Tsu Gyoza Dumpling Elementary School

Introduction of the Enrolled Organizations

“Tsu Gyoza Dumpling” is a sizable gyoza dumpling, using a gyoza sheet of 15cm diameter. It was provided for school lunch in around 1985 for the first time. The wisdom and ingenuity of school lunch chefs are also wrapped in it, and it is still a popular menu. Tsu Gyoza Dumpling Elementary School started to encourage Tsu City with Tsu Gyoza. (Pretended) elementary pupils and (pretended) school teachers advertise Tsu City with fun, happiness, and enthusiasm (LOL)! We are opening a branch school in Akashi and looking forward to your enrollment. ♪Tsu, Tsu, Tsu, Tsu Gyoza Dumpling!!♪

Introduction of the Cities and Towns

Tsu City was a castle town of Tsu Castle and ruled by a samurai lord Takatora Todo. It was also a flourished post town under the Goddess of Tsu Kannon, counted as one of the three famous statues of Kannon Bodhisattva (the Goddess of Mercy). In the present day, Tsu City has rich nature: mountains with a “Forest Therapy Station” and beaches where people enjoy clam digging and swimming. In addition, it has two national treasures: the Mikagedo and the Nyoraido, which belong to the Sensyu-ji Temple of Shinshu Takata Honzan School. These two Buddhist buildings are the first national treasures designated in Mie Prefecture. In 2022, a factory-integrated amusement park, “Baby Star Oyatsu Town: Play, Learn, and Create,” reopened after renovation.
