"B-1 Grand Prix" means the festvial/contest of invigorating towns through regional cuisine : B-1(B-class) Grand Prix.

The B-1 Grand Prix is recognized as one of the most popular events in Japan to invigorate the local regions, which has gained a lot of visitors and drawn attention. It has grown to a nationwide event that energizes both the venue and the hometowns of the cuisine booths.

The venue is quite lively. You can enjoy the local specialties, and you will see people who are working on regional revitalization with great vitality and force. However, the aim of the B-1 Grand Prix is not to sell food. Our purpose is the promotion of our hometowns although we serve our local cuisine.

In the line waiting for the meal serving, the staff members from the local regions of the booths will entertain you with various ways of their hometown promotion. The number of promotion staff members is the same or more than the number of cooking staff members.

"B" of B-1 Gran Prix stands for local "Brand." B-1 Gran Prix is an event by the Town Revitalizing Groups to encourage regional divisions. Fellows who love their hometowns get together, promote local brands through their local cuisine and invite people to their towns.

We hope many people will visit the regions by getting interested in their local cuisine. Successful promotions will lead to "human resource development" and "human resource encouragement." Fellows who collaborate in their area get out of their towns, exchange with people from other places and improve themselves through friendly competitions. Local resources are revitalizing the whole of Japan.
